Who We Are

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter Tuskegee Airmen is made up of persons who want to maintain the legacy of the men and women, black and white, who supported aircraft in the air and on the ground as bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, instructors, and all other personnel at Tuskegee Army Air Field (TAAF) and other designated units or locations until inactivation on the 332nd Fighter Wing at Lockbourne Army Air Base (later designated Lockbourne Air Force Base). We include men and women, black and white persons who participated in the Tuskegee Airmen experience from 1941 up to 1946.

Our Mission is to honor the accomplishments and perpetuated the history of the men and women of the Greater Philadelphia area who participated in the Tuskegee Experience as air and ground crew operations and support in the Army Air Corps during World War II. We focus on encouraging young men and women to pursue excellence while introducing them to the world of aviation and science, paying special attention to those interested in aviation, technology and aerospace.

We show our appreciation by acknowledging those individuals, groups and corporations whose deeds support Greater Philadelphia Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (TAI) mission, goals and objectives.
