2025 PA Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day

On March 29, 2007, the extraordinary Tuskegee Airmen and women received the United States Congress Congressional Gold Medal from President George W. Bush for their bravery during WWII. Starting in year 2023, our fellow Philadelphians and Pennsylvanians join in celebration of Tuskegee Airmen Commemorative Day in Pennsylvania. During this event, we are honoring the legacy of both men and women reflective of diverse races and ethnic backgrounds who participated in the Tuskegee Experience. This day is the result of unanimous approval by both the PA House of Representatives and the Senate with legislation signed on November 15, 2022 by Tom Wolfe, Governor Emeritus. The commemoration of these events officially designates March 29th as Tuskegee Airmen Commemorative Day in Pennsylvania for which the Greater Philadelphia Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc and our National Tuskegee Airmen organization are honored.

Our year 2025 celebration takes place on Saturday, March 29th, at Morton Hall in Morton, PA from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The theme is “They Soared Above It All”. Heritage Family Presentations will reveal monumental achievements of relatives who served as Tuskegee Airmen and Women. In addition, special tributes will be extended for Tuskegee Airmen Roscoe “Coach” Draper, Lt. William E. “Woody” Rice and Cpl. Nathan O. Thomas.  These tributes will be followed by the public presentation of Tuskegee Airmen Congressional Medals to Heritage Family members of Mr. Elliott H. Blue, Dr. HarryE. Lenauge, and Captain James E. Murrell. Also, all first time and grandfathered financial members will have the opportunity to receive their new Greater Philadelphia Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc “Red Tails” membership pin.
