Bio of Tony Moreland

Tony Moreland is an Executive Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.  He chairs two Committees, Membership and Youth Programs, as well as the role of Financial Secretary.  He has served and supported the Chapter members and activities since 2005.  Tony brings passion, leadership, and communication skills to the Greater Phila. Chapter in the areas of Youth Programs and Finance Committee business.  Having served under three Chapter Presidents, we entrust him to share wisdom and uphold our vision to preserve this incredible legacy and empower today’s youth.  Although he’s among our youngest Board Members, he has three decades of diverse professional experience in Civil Service and the U.S. Air Force Reserves.  Tony is still actively employed in both careers while also raising three incredible children with his beautiful and supportive wife of 24 years.

In the civilian realm he has been employed for 33 years, with the City of Philadelphia, managing tens of millions of dollars in municipal contracts, employees, and equipment.  For the military, he amassed 5,800 flying hours in 36 years as a combat-qualified Flight Engineer on KC-10A Air Refueling Aircraft and three models of C-130 Cargo Aircraft.  This range of experience in various communities of profession makes Tony a key figure in our endeavor to increase membership among the youth, active military and young professionals in the Philadelphia/Tri-State area.  Our continued existence and growth lies with him, and the entire Executive Board, to ensure the legacy of those 10,000 heroic men and women who make up the Tuskegee Airmen Experience.
